Welcome to the wild west of Nepal: the Upper Mustang District. High on the Tibetan Plateau with a history drenched in fuedal battles, the region remained a semi-autonomous Kingdom until 2008. Geographically isolated and too remote for law enforcement, Upper Mustang remains culturally distinct from the rest of Nepal.

During the Khmer Rouge take-over of Cambodia, over one million citizens were emprisoned, executed or starved to death for non-conformance. A high school in the capital was converted into one of the execution sites: the Tuol Sleng Prison.
